Easy Peasy Crock Pot Dinner Rolls

Did you know that your crock pot is ideal for baking bread? Surprise! Surprise! The texture is similar to bread baked in a bread machine, thick and moist, and the aroma, amazing! All types of bread can be baked in a crock pot, too. This recipe for Easy Peasy Crock Pot Dinner rolls takes minutes to prepare and produces the most mouthwatering rolls ever!

I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical when I first saw a recipe for rolls baked in a crock pot. I mean, really, how good could it be? The answer is…damn good! With very little work, you’ll have soft, delicious dinner rolls…from a crock pot!

Easy Peasy Crock Pot Dinner Rolls

Serves 7
Prep time 15 minutes
Cook time 1 hour, 40 minutes
Total time 1 hour, 55 minutes

  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal
  • 1 11 oz. can refrigerated crusty French bread or loaf
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons garlic or Italian herb blend (rosemary can also be used)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Step 1
Line a 3 to 5 quart crock pot with a sheet of cooking parchment paper. Sprinkle cornmeal on paper.
Step 2
Cut loaf of dough crosswise into 7 pieces to make rolls. Arrange rolls in crock pot. In small bowl, mix melted butter, herb blend, and salt. Brush over rolls.
Step 3
Cover; cook on High heat setting 1 hour 40 minutes or until rolls are golden brown around edges and cooked through in center.
