Being a Woman IS Rough

Posted on by Crystal in Life As We Know It | 2 Comments

Feminism, sexism, equal rights, binders…let’s shelve all of that BS today and agree that being a woman IS rough. I mean, come on. We have the weight of the world on our shoulders trying to balance work, kids and home. We always feel guilty about something or that we are not doing enough. We have the media painting this picture of what an ideal woman should look like – a picture that has been photoshopped, cropped, colored, matted and Crayolaed into a fictional piece of work. Aless’s new favorite toy is some electronic iPad-looking thingy that Pontilicious picked up at Wally World the other day. It’s loud, obnoxious and perfect for a 10-month-old. I sat with her last night answering the repetitive question, “What does a “blank” say?” At first, we did awesome! Then things turned foul (literally): Read more

Walking, A Bittersweet Milestone

Aless recently started walking as shown in the video below (little bugger). She took her first steps at just 9-months-old and at 10-months, it was official. It’s crazy to see such a tiny, little thing running across the floor! Crawling is only an option now when we try to put shoes on her. She detests anything on her feet, even socks. You’d think we were sticking her tootsies into freezing water or hot coals! Silly girl! Read more
